Titilayo Okuwa is an award-winning multi-skilled student journalist at Florida A&M University.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Okuwa was one of only 10 virtual interns nationwide for the E.W. Scripps Company. While working for WTXL in Tallahassee, she enterprised content, conducted interviews for broadcast, and played a vital role in the planning of the 2020 Florida primary.
While studying at FAMU, Okuwa’s work in politics was recognized with a first-place Florida Broadcasters Award, on a series called “Race to 20,” highlighting the election. She has an extensive background covering politics interning for Gubernatorial and Congressional campaigns.
Okuwa served as a host of “SGA Talks,” a weekly radio program on WANM 90.5 FM. She has also interned at WCTV and WFSU.
These opportunities sparked her desire to contribute to the dissemination of political information through reporting of political news and commentary.
